ASA/NSRA SERIES WILL BE COMPETING ON HOOSIER TIRES IN 2012

The American Speed Association Northwest Sprintcar Racing Association Board of Directors have announced that the asphalt winged-sprint car series will be competing on Hoosier Tires, the Official Tire of ASA Racing, for the 2012 season.  This decision reverses the earlier announcement that the series would be switching to the American Racer tire for the upcoming season.

The decision comes after ASA/NSRA officials met with representatives of Hoosier Tire West.  The two parties were able to come to a mutual agreement allowing Hoosier to stay on board as the official tire for the series.

For the 2012 season, the approved tires for the ASA/NSRA sanctioned events are:

Left Front – M2010, 11.0/24.0-15
Right front - M2030, 11.0/24.0-15
Left rear - M2020, 13.0/25.5 - 15 or 13.0/26.0-15
Right rear - M2048, 17.0/28.0-15

ASA/NSRA Board of Directors also made a rule change to limit the teams to five tires for each event.  For qualifying, heat races, and main events only five tires can be used.  All tires will be marked prior to qualifying including the one extra tire.  Teams have the freedom to choose which position on the car the extra tire may be used.  Trophy Dashes will not require using the five marked tires.
