Meridian Pre Race
Points Battle With The Top Four Remains Tight
The American Speed Association Northwest Sprint Car Series 2008 Championship Weekend
The American Speed Association/Northwest Sprintcar Racing Association (ASA/NSRA) 2008 Championship remains unsettled with only two races left on the schedule. Matt Hein has increased his fragile point lead to forty-one over 2nd place 2007 champion Andy Alberding. 3rd place Sierra Jackson sits seventy-one points behind Hein and thirty behind Alberding. In 4th resides Justin Mack just nine points behind Jackson. With a maximum of eighty points possible at each race the 2008 Championship is far from over.
The last two races will be held at Meridian Speedway where the 2008 Champion will be determined. Meridian will host the ASA/NSRA sprint cars Friday and Saturday night, September 26th and 27th and is billed as the Championship weekend. Each race night will award a separate set of points. The top four will have to be at their best for both nights of racing at the quarter-mile low banked track. A mistake by any one of the four could advance the other three.
Top ten in season points:
1. Matt Hein 615
2. Andy Alberding 574
3. Sierra Jackson 544
4. Justin Mack 535
5. Jake Mann 494
