ASA/NSRA Championship season revs up after a five week layoff at Spokane County Raceway
Portland, OR - July 15th - The American Speed Association/Northwest Sprintcar Racing Association (ASA/NSRA) continues their 2009 championship season, the fourth of a ten race schedule returning to Spokane County Raceway (SCR) after a two year absence. The half mile oval will host the best from ASA/NSRA July 18th.
Points leader Matt Hein will attempt to keep his twenty point lead intact over second place Canadian Jeff Montgomery Saturday night. Third place Cory Lockwood sits just nine points behind Montgomery and twenty-nine behind Hein. Justin Mack and Andy Alberding are tussling for fourth overall followed by Todd Coleman. Just behind Coleman Greg Ochs and Greg Middendorf are separated by just three points. There will be plenty of fast paced action on the track for positions and for championship points !
More information can be found at SCR’s website Spokane County Raceway. Gates open at 5 PM.
ASA/NSRA is the most exciting opened wheel racing on the west coast and by far the fastest. NSRA drivers currently hold 21 all time track records at venues throughout the region. These are open wheeled, winged sprint cars running on paved ovals utilizing 700 plus horsepower methanol-burning engines running on tracks that vary in length from quarter mile to five-eights mile facilities.
